The Kerberos program is looking for a software engineer to manage the program’s COTS/FOSS in support of a ground satellite mission that will be entering operations next year. Primary responsibilities will include planning and coordination of ongoing COTS/FOSS upgrades in accordance with obsolescence plans and Information Assurance initiatives/controls.
This role will collaborate with the Integration and Sustainment teams in order to understand the overall enterprise roadmap determine interdependencies and timing of upgrades, along with impacts to custom software domains. A solid software background and an interest in evolving technologies, along with strong communication and teaming skills are required. In addition, cross-program coordination will be required to leverage efforts performed by other programs and to employ lessons learned.
Validated TS/SCI clearances are eligible for sign on bonus amounts up to $40,000.
This Software Engineer is responsible to:

• Become familiar with operational software COTS/FOSS requirements
• Engage with over-arching enterprise roadmap for COTS/FOSS evolution
• Work closely with Software Sustainment team for implementation of COTS/FOSS upgrades
• Occasionally, provide support to operations
• Occasionally, provide input to cost estimation efforts for ECRs, ECPs, and proposals.
  

Required Skills:

• Current/active TS/SCI SSBI level clearance is required
• Minimum 4-6 years of Java/ C++ programming experience
• Minimum 4-6 years of SW development experience using object-oriented techniques
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux
• Object Oriented Analysis (OOA) and Object Oriented Design (OOD) skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience and/or knowledge with DevOps and Continuous Integration
• Experience and/or knowledge with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) like Eclipse
• Knowledge of system integration and system test
• Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
• Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite of tools
• Engineering experience on a government software development contract
• Experience with complex satellite ground systems
• Qualified Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent.

Required Education (including Major):

• Bachelor of Science, in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Math.
