Lead Pratt & Whitney's Commercial & Military Engines’ Internal Communications function to drive one-company strategies in support of business results. Working closely with P&W’s five Communications Centers of Excellence (COE), provide strategic advice and manage executive, employee and change communications that ensures CE and ME employees are engaged and understand their roles in achieving the company’s success.

Responsibilities:

Promote CE and ME business highlights throughout P&W and externally as appropriate to educate and engage the workforce in supporting CE and ME business objectives. Carry out these initiatives using an assortment of proven communications tools and initiatives such as:

  • Orchestrating effective face-to-face executive engagements (all hands, skip-level events, staff meetings)
  • Producing weekly/monthly messages including BU newsletters and executive employee letters and video
  • Creating dynamic BU website content, supervisor communications tools and support, and content for mysite/social channels Recommend and implement culture and employee engagement related strategic activities, including but not limited to, communication strategies and training, messages and materials, change management initiatives, recognition and other facets that enhance the employee experience and impact the ongoing cultural transformation.

Drive importance of management communications through training modules, Direct global strategies to ensure employees are inspired and aligned with P&W’s Success Model (Who We Are: purpose, vision, mission, values; How We Work: ACE, IPD; and How We Lead: Leadership Operating Model).

Proactively identify and pursue relevant opportunities to strengthen employee awareness of company values and culture and reinforce our reputation as an employer of choice.

Develop communications to assist managers in actively sharing company, business unit and functional/department information to improve the way we work, explain new programs or processes, highlight new employee offerings, etc.

Coordinate with Exec/Employee & Change Communications team on balancing the appropriate focus, flow and timing of all communications to Pratt & Whitney employees. Drive one-company initiatives to communicate the company’s vision and goals throughout the organization to ensure each employee understands his/her role in supporting our shared mission

  • Implement an integrated strategy to improve management communications and employee engagement throughout Pratt & Whitney.
  • Implement a BU-wide manager/supervisor communications framework to ensure message flowdown and alignment at all levels of the organization and measure management communications effectiveness.
  • Evaluate existing communications channels and mechanisms, identify areas for improvement as well as new opportunities; ensure multiple feedback channels -- utilizing technological and face-to-face methods -- allowing for more interactive engagement.

Coordinate with the Digital Communications team to drive web-based and social media communications, executive communications, employee publications and other communication tools to reach internal audience and external constituents, when appropriate.

Manage communications projects using internal and external resources, including coordination across the communications group, defining communications plans, assigning project responsibilities and resources, managing budgets and overseeing vendor relationships and negotiating costs, all under tight deadlines.

Develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of all company communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Communications or related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience. Master’s preferred.
  • Proven track record in providing broad communications services including writing, copyediting, event management, and briefing materials to executive level customers.
  • Energetic and effective at managing multiple projects under pressure and demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to provide counsel and guidance to executive level leaders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and sense of urgency.
  • UTC experience or knowledge of the aerospace industry and markets highly desired.
