This is your opportunity to join the
AN/TPY-2 Radar software Team in Woburn, Massachusetts as a
Principal Signal Processing Software Engineer to support our X-Band Radar software line. The signal processing software team works with the latest algorithms to implement real-time solutions that improve our missile defense discrimination capabilities. This position involves high level design, software development, integration, and testing of real-time Radar software. The candidate will be responsible for architectural design, application design, and implementation of integrated Radar signal processing software applications. Our radar software applications are developed using Ada, C++/C and Java programming languages running on a variety of computing platforms running Linux or UNIX operating systems.
The Missile Defense Radar Software Department’s mission is to provide world class Missile Defense and Surveillance Radar Software to be used in radar systems deployed on land and sea. Our software teams employ an AGILE Scrum process to rapidly design, code, and integrate capabilities on a continuous basis into a mature solution for our customers. We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.
The candidate will be expected to be a key contributor for complex development tasks and be able to provide technical leadership in multiple areas of software engineering. This position requires understanding of real-time, signal processing software design and the ability to recognize the performance implications associated with specific detail implementations. The candidate will require the ability to understand the “big picture” of the radar system and also be able to develop or review detail solutions at the source code level.
This position is a Salary Grade G10.
Required Skills: - Existing secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance with interim within 30 days and full clearance thereafter.
- Minimum 10 yrs experience in all phases of software engineering
- 6+ years of experience with C++/C
- 6 years Linux or UNIX experience
- 3 years signal processing software development experience
- Software development experience in a DoD environment
- Experience at the Software architecture level
Desired Skills:- Experience implementing complex real-time signal processing algorithms in C++ that meet latency and throughput performance requirements
- Familiarity with typical radar signal processing algorithms such as pulse compression, multi-pulse processing, CFAR detection, adaptive processing
- Understanding of parallelism and concurrency as applied to algorithm implementation on shared memory and distributed systems
- Experience in multithreaded, multiprocessor software development
- Familiarity with the following SW Tools: Rational Apex, ClearCase, DOORS, iTracker, MATLAB
- Experience on XBR, AN/TPY-2, COBRA DANE, GBR-P, or similar missile defense radars.
- Experience in an Agile/SCRUM development environment
- Strong Object-Oriented Design Knowledge
- Strong problem solving ability
- Good verbal and written communication skills

Required Education:- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software Engineering (Master's Degree preferred)
