Job summary

The Red Hat Specialist Solutions Architects team is looking for a Specialist Solutions Architect to join us in Mumbai, India. In this role, you'll work closely with account executives and account solutions architects to achieve sales and revenue goals, evaluate technical requirements of new sales opportunities, and develop technical solutions that can successfully meet the needs of prospective customers. You will promote our innovative middleware solutions including Red Hat OpenShift Platform, Red Hat JBoss EAP, Process Automation, Red Hat 3Scale Integration, and Red Hat Decision Manager. As a Specialist Solutions Architect, you'll need to have customer-facing skills and in-depth technical knowledge as you will serve as a customer advocate within Red Hat to develop appropriate solutions and ensure that they are implemented in an innovative and reliable way.

Primary job responsibilities

• Partner with sales specialists and account solutions architects across India and South Asia; serve as the technical point of contact for customer opportunities
• Ensure revenue quota, deployment, and service objectives are met while maintaining a high level of prospect and customer satisfaction
• Develop and implement Red Hat Middleware sales strategies to help ensure Red Hat's objectives are met
• Present Red Hat’s solutions and technical proposals to prospects and customers
• Guide the gathering of architecture and design and the presentation of solutions to meet customer needs through workshops and other activities
• Research and write the responses to technical sections of requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposal (RFPs)
• Support presales workshops, demonstrations, proofs of concepts, evaluations, and benchmarks
• Work directly with Red Hat Middleware solutions
• Contribute to the team effort by sharing knowledge, documenting customer success stories, helping maintain the team lab environment, and participating in subject matter expert team initiatives
• Participate in solution trainings and complete ongoing continuing education requirements to grow and enhance your skills
• Attend internal meetings with Engineering, Product Management, GPS, GLS, and other teams to provide product information, presentations, demos, or other crucial feedback

Required skills

• 5+ years of relevant experience working in presales or as solutions architecture in software sales organization
• 8+ years of total experience with full life cycle application development including proven architecture experience using Red Hat OpenShift Cloud Native development, Kubernates, Agile integration and development, continuous integration (CI), test-driven development (TDD), SOA, message-oriented middleware (MOM), governance, high availability, scaling, distributed applications, clustering, etc.
• Ability to develop excellent presentation skills; ability to present to small and large groups of mixed audiences such as business, technical, management, and leadership
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Willingness to travel within the region

The following are considered a plus:

• Experience with Red Hat JBOSS EAP, Red Hat Fuse, 3Scale by Red Hat, and Red Hat OpenShift
• Bachelor's or master's degree
• Knowledge of the Red Hat JBoss portfolio or Red Hat OpenShift
• Experience with project management, architecture design, or sales engineering
