Job Description

• Responsible for delivering large scale projects on time, budget and high quality.
• Leading large programs from ideation, solution, estimation, implementation and sustainment.
• Responsible for fostering and developing relationships with business stakeholders, providing thought leadership, and asserting influence by driving projects to completion effectively and efficiently
• Ability to facilitate business, technical and management discussion with large diverse groups and provide leadership support.
• Ability to develop integrated release planning for large programs across multiple teams and instill agile and development methodology processes. Responsible for fostering and developing relationships with business stakeholders, providing thought leadership, and asserting influence by driving projects to completion effectively and efficiently
• Responsible for executive and management reporting on status, accomplishments and on time escalation for issue resolution.
• Building and leading multiple development and delivery teams consisting of Product Managers, Data Engineers, Software Developers, Data Scientists and Project Managers. These teams will be a combination of cast members and contractors (onshore and offshore).
• Responsible for technical analysis, effort estimation, product and system design, evaluating architectural fit and compliance, resource schedules, delivery milestones, and overall product quality.
• Manage buget effectively working closely with finance controllership and able to build forecast and minimizing actual variance.
• Directly oversee, mentor, and develop the technical staff and supervise the technical delivery of these engineers.
• Build best practices used in day-to-day operations and working with business units to plan, design, and implement large-scale projects
• Manage a variety of diverse - and sometimes conflicting – requests, priorities, and activities. Candidates will need management and communication skills to interact with people at all levels across the Walt Disney Company.
• Develop and manage effective working relationships with other departments, groups and staff
• Enforce and grow a culture focused on quality
• 15+ years of experience in technology especially in data management space including delivering atleast 5+ multi-million dollar data management delivery projects
• 5+ years of experience in delivering technology initiatives involving big data, cloud and data science capabilities.
• Experience and understanding of modern data technologies and patterns especially Hadoop, Python, Spark, cloud native data management process, NoSQL databases, docker containers, etc
• Experience working cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure
• Experience with ML frameworks and understanding of algorithms (regression, classification, etc) is a big plus
• Ability to come up with solutions to loosely defined business problems by leveraging scalable architecture patterns
• Strong systems integration architecture skills and a high degree of technical expertise, ranging across a number of technologies with a proven track record of turning new Technologies into business solutions
• Capability to educate the organization both from technical and the business perspectives on new approaches that will drive adoption of the Data Management, Cloud and ML Framework
• Experience in leading discovery processes with stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome
• Comfortable with both technical and business responsibilities, you will be working with engineers, data scientists and business masterminds to build products and solve complex problems
• Passionate about data, technology, and challenging the status quo
• Proven experience providing technical mentorship to team members
• Comfortable working in a team environment using agile methodologies
• Strong communication, interpersonal skills and fortitude to get stuff done
• Demonstrate the following scientist qualities: clarity, accuracy, precision, relevance, depth, breadth, logic, significance, fairness and aptitude for original research
• Experience in a large media or technology company and working with revenue management, digital, customer engagement initiatives is a big plus
• Success at delivering large scale technology delivery projects on-time and on-budget.
• A comfort level with complex, matrixed organizations containing a certain amount of ambiguity

As the Senior Manager in the Information Advantage (IA) organization, you will be working in latest big data, cloud and AI/ML technologies and responsible for leading the delivery and execution of multiple Data Analytics and Machine Learning projects across business functions. This role will oversee the end to end program delivery, technical success of the projects and develop a repeatable delivery framework across various initiatives.
Required Education :

• Bachelor / Master’s degree in computer science or related field/work experience

Preferred Education :

• 15+ years of experience in technology especially in data management space including delivering atleast 5+ multi-million dollar data management delivery projects
