Senior Revenue Accountant

Job Description

As a Senior Revenue Accountant on the UT team, you will be responsible for leading the accurate and timely processing of revenue transactions, including preparation and review of complex journal entries, preparing deferred revenue reconciliations, preparing supporting analysis and documentation for ASC 606, and identifying improvements to our reporting and close processes!We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a process while looking for ways to scale and improve the process as the company grows. Responsibilities:

• Designs, implements, and oversees processes for recording revenue, contra-revenue, sales allowances, and deferred revenue.
• Performs month-end close processes including preparing and reviewing complex journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing variance analysis reporting.
• Prepares monthly entries to record commission payments and maintains related schedules for amortization.
• Audits monthly revenue data to ensure correct billing and pricing information, in accordance with User Testing’s policies.
• Partners with Finance, Legal & Sales Operations to ensure accuracy and completeness of customer contract data.
• Establishes self as subject matter expert on company's financial transactions, sales contracts, and business practices.
• Provides guidance to cross-functional teams through close collaboration and clear communication.
• Leads annual study and analysis to establish estimated stand-alone selling prices for software licenses and professional services.
• Supports audit processes, preparing external audit schedules and communicating with auditors as needed.
• Performs tasks independently, consulting with supervisory team and peers as needed.
  

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required
• CPA certification or candidate, strongly preferred
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting and/or a corporate accounting environment, with a strong focus on revenue reporting
• 3+ years in SaaS revenue accounting, analyzing contracts / multi-element transactions and applying that knowledge to a variety of customer documentation, required
• Strong understanding of US GAAP & ASC 606
• Experience with ERP systems, Intacct preferred
• Possess intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (experience using v-lookups, pivot tables, filters, and various formulas required)
• Passion for driving business decisions by researching relevant guidance and analyzing large and complex data sets
• Excellent business acumen with ability to deal with ambiguity. Effective skills and ability to understand and present data
• Ability to work closely with a senior management team
• Ability to organize and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
