Our field sales professionals rely on proactive technical support during the sales process – and our expert Systems Engineering team always steps up to the mark. We lead the development and implementation of complex and specialized products, applications, services and solutions. From delivering sales presentations and product demonstrations, to developing detailed installations or system integration plans, we ensure customers get the innovative, relevant, interoperable solutions they need.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for our UK Public Sector clients in South England , and work with existing sales teams towards Dell’s largest Datacentre customers in qualifying new opportunities, translating customer technical requirements to a Dell solution and driving the technical discussions with the customers to close and deliver the solutions.

Working with highly skilled sales teams, you will:

  • Be responsible for the technical close of an opportunity throughout the sales cycle and will engage other subject matter experts or services as needed.
  • Posses a competitive technical fluency in core enterprise technologies and architecture
  • Engage on technical level discussions around enterprise solutions. Through this discussion will build a credible future state strategy on optimized architecture.
  • Conduct technical white board sessions to evaluate and make recommendations is a must; the candidate will to translate a customer’s technical requirements to a Dell solution including mapping from “as is” to “to be” state resulting in billable Proof of Concept (POC).
  • Technical close, however, as part of DCC wider commercial knowledge and ability to have commercial discussions is also expected.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent within a technical field
  • Solid/extensive/substantial experience in technical consultative pre-sales of enterprise solutions and/or solution architecture
  • A thorough understanding of servers, networking and storage, associated storage area networks and enterprise software with a bias on compute and management technologies
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with sales teams with the ability to define client solutions through RFI’s and RFP’s
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and language

Desirable Requirements

  • HPC and/or Analytics knowledge and related technologies used in these solution areas
  • Public sector customer experience in Education and/or Healthcare environments
  • Industry standard certifications in Microsoft and/or VMware and/or Cloud and solution architecture experience and/or qualifications (e.g. TOGAF)
  • Practical experience of GPU and/or FPGA technologies
  • Practical experience of system management technologies and application to large scale compute environments,
