In this role, you have the opportunity to

Prepare and implement projects in multi-disciplinary areas in accordance with agreed conditions on specification, time, cost, quality and staffing. Projects have an innovative character. You’ll coordinate between the sub-projects (or vendor handled projects). These are multi-site, complex projects with significant project budgets and project-team sizes in the range of 10...15 members.

You are responsible for

  • Together with the partners and project owner as defined in the Product Breakdown Structure, the Project manager (PM) defines and baselines the scope of the project.
  • The PM defines the project organization and – communication (within the organizational boundaries) so that roles and responsibilities can be assigned clearly within the project, and to empower others, driving decision-making to the lowest level reasonable.
  • Make sure that Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) are created for every functional discipline and that there is commitment on these deliverables. The WBS indicates what deliverables are needed from all involved departments.
  • The PM takes care that the project activities are baselined in a project plan. The plan is based upon the committed deliverables from the departments and groups.
  • Track the planned activities, reports the results to the partners and takes corrective actions where needed.
  • The PM reports the project status to management and other partners at regular intervals. The PM is the escalation level within the project and to the management.
  • Manage the project risks, amongst other things by setting up and maintaining a risk matrix in order to manage the project to an acceptable level of risk by balancing specification, costs, quality, time, and budget.
  • Manage the resources requests and assists the organization in resource allocation reviews. The PM manages the human and non-human project resources such as budget, material required, test systems required (including field test).
  • Budget and cost management.
  • Manage changes according to the change management procedures.
  • Quality and regulatory – product delivery according to the Quality and regulatory standards.

You are a part of

You will be part of the Business Unit, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) within Philips Healthcare. The Business Unit MRI is responsible for marketing, product development and lifecycle management of 1.5T and 3T High end and Mid-range MRI systems. In the MR Development group you will be part of the Hardware Research & Development group Digital Acquisition System Hardware (DAS HW) This group consists of roughly 18 electrical engineers; you will work together with several internal and external groups/disciplines, and with internal and external suppliers. As you will experience, Philips is a high-tech large international organization.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelors/master’s in Electrical /Electronics Engineering.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Electronic Hardware development and/or FPGA Firmware development, preferably in a (safety) regulated industry such as medical devices, gas appliances, aviation automotive equipment etc.
  • Knowledge of Configuration management tools & processes is required.
  • Good leadership skills, communication skills and a teamplayer
  • Demonstrated engineering knowledge, program management, and business planning processes, having experience with the full product lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of medical devices and standards is an advantage.
