This Mechanical Engineer will be working in a high volume Collins Aerospace MRO facility directly supporting Metrology and the overall product testing environment. This person will need to be able to read part drawings, acceptance test procedures, and write work instructions. Best candidate must have strong computer skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Fundamental understanding of dimensional measurement techniques, fluid and flow mechanics, pressure systems, and basic instrumentation is required. Understanding or experience with lean manufacturing theory and concepts is a plus.
• Strong demonstrated ability to understand and apply information from technical manuals, engineering drawings and documents as well as other reference material.
• Create test work instructions and test procedures from design or OEM specifications
• Understand system diagrams and drawings
• Have an understanding of Acceptance Testing and/or system level testing
• Basic knowledge of automated test equipment
• Data or test yields for each process that measure what is expected and/or acceptable
  

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
• Advance degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
• Master’s degree or working toward a Masters in an engineering discipline
• Experience driving manufacturing reliability and quality through calibration support which will ensure all units shipped out to customers are well tested, stressed, and free from defects.
