Job Description

Description:The candidate will work with the Installation Design team to research, develop, design and test the installation of various Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and military grade components and systems in racks, console, or pallet style configurations meant for, military aircraft, vehicles and/or products. The candidate will be responsible for generating 3D models, 2D drawings, assembly bills of material (BOMs), and processing engineering releases through change management systems.
Mechanical drawings are prepared using AutoCAD, CATIA V5 and CREO, and BOM management and drawing release will be processed in EPDM.
The candidate will be required to provide technical solutions that comply with ASME and MIL-STD specifications, and LM MST standards and further to properly execute and adhere to company processes and procedures regarding engineering tools used in development and release of mechanical designs.
The candidate will be responsible for interfacing and collaborating with horizontal organizations to ensure project requirements and schedules are met. The candidate will be required to work in a team environment and must be able to effectively communicate and interface with others including Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management and Suppliers. This includes
troubleshooting technical problems and issues with limited supervision to determine a technical solution in accordance with product and customer specifications.
The candidate will support earned value management (EVM) efforts by providing objective evidence for schedule statusing.
The candidate will support proposal efforts including preparing Basis of Estimate (BOE) forms and Technical Proposal Literature.
The Locale: Owego, New York is located about 200 miles northwest of New York City and about 75 miles south of Syracuse New York. Owego sits just north of the border with Pennsylvania and is part of what's known as the 'Southern Tier' section of New York State. The region is home to Binghamton University and Cornell University. Basic Qualifications:
Prior experience in mechanical design.
Proficient with CAD tools for generating 3D models and 2D detailed drawings.
Familiar with specifications and standards associated with mechanical design and fabrication, such as metal plating finishes, inserts, and drafting standards.
Desired Skills:
Experience with CREO or CATIA V5.
Experience with releasing documents using EPDM or similar system.
Experience with design for military applications.
