Software Engineers & Testers - All Levels

Do you want to be part of designing upgrades to world-class airborne and ground-based Air Battle Management Systems in service with the RAAF?

Boeing Defence Australia's (BDA) is currently looking for highly motivated Software Engineers and testers varying experience and levels. Working within the Mission Systems and Ground Segments Capability, you will be part of the team that enhance and sustain operational software on platforms such as the Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) E-7A and the Wakulda Air Battle Management System (ABMS).

We have roles available in Brisbane, Adelaide and Newcastle (RAAF Williamtown).

Responsibilities will include:

• Integrating and/or creating high quality software through application of an Agile-based approach to design and development, requirements analysis and specification, functional analysis, integration and testing with a continuous delivery mindset
• Conducting engineering activities in accordance with project plans, and established processes, practices and standards, while continually seeking out opportunities for process improvement
• Engaging effectively with other team members, leaders and customer/subcontractor technical representatives when required, contributing to a positive and strong team culture

To be successful you will have:

• Be passionate, collaborative and capable in your approach to complex problems
• Qualifications in Software Engineering/Computer Science, or complementary certifications
• Exposure to software development in one or more of C++, Java or Python
• Familiarity with source code control and document configuration management systems
• Have a “drive to action” approach with the ability to be resilient and flexible in a fast-paced environment

Experience with some or all of the following is desirable:

• Cyber-security
• Systems Engineering methodologies
• Skills or domain knowledge in C2 systems, sensor integration, messaging protocols or mission systems
• Wedgetail (AEW&C) experience and/or knowledge
• Vigilare (ABMS) experience and/or knowledge
• Proven past experience in software development for commercial and/or Defence software applications
