Wells Fargo Advisors Application Delivery Services is seeking a highly motivated and organized self-starter with demonstrated ability to lead teams in agile transformation. This Scrum Master will function as an Agile Release Train Engineer and will be responsible for establishing disciplined, effective agile teams which embrace and exhibit the agile mindset, by instructing the team or teams in agile principles and practices. Effectively leverages and combines different industry standard scaling concepts to specific business problems in a manner that best supports scaled agile values and principles, as well as Wells Fargo Vision and Values. Responsible for guiding teams on the first principle of Agile Coaching to deliver working software. Using domain knowledge, offers credible guidance to begin pipeline and team process, structure work, create value streams, and start/growth of scaling activities. Develops collaborative working relationships with multiple levels of managers, and steering committees with a focus on scaling agile within an organization or line of business.

Helps leaders understand associated continuous delivery implications and the structure required to sufficiently support the software. Fosters maturation of agile mindset by asking powerful questions focusing on scaled program planning, scrum-of-scrums, identification of cross-program dependencies, scaled release planning, empirical data for decision models, and ultimate delivery of work efforts. Objectively informs/assists leaders in a non-biased manner to consider highly complex and long-term implications of transformation to self-governing teams; uses a systems view in facilitating impediment removal at the team/program/value stream level. Provides strategic thought leadership during engagements on approaches to overcome impediments to accelerated delivery; skillfully facilitates conflict resolution with and between teams. Fosters strong spirit of communication and collaboration between teams to align program goals, deliver final products, and ensure leadership transparency to impediments and progress.

Key Responsibilities Include:
• Doing everything possible to ensure team of teams are delivering value stakeholders
• Guiding the team and organization on how to use Lean / Agile / Scrum practices and values
• Guiding the team on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Lean / Agile / Scrum frameworks
• Assessing the Lean / Agile / Scrum maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
• Drive relentless improvement (including flow, execution, and quality) via Inspect and Adapt workshops
• Assess the agility level of the Program (ART) and help them improve
• Work with the teams and facilitate removal of impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
• Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
• Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
• Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
• Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
• Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
• Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs)
• Facilitate PI Planning readiness and logistics
• Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary
• Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
• Encourage collaboration between teams and System Architects and Engineering
• Facilitate Integrated System Demonstartions
• Develop and conduct Agile-oriented training


Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience as a practicing Scrum Master
  • 5+ years of Agile experience
  • 4+ years of leadership experience
  • 3+ years of coaching experience
  • 2+ years of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) experience


Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills


Other Desired Qualifications

• Accredited SAFe Certification (SPC, RTE)
• Experience with all elements and outcomes required of team of teams quarterly planning events (such as Program Increment planning)
• Advanced knowledge of scaling of agile practices to the team of teams and beyond
• 3+ years of experience with Agile project management tools (JIRA, Rally, etc.)
• Knowledge and understanding of technology delivery and project management
• Ability to manage or facilitate analysis of current systems, problem identification, and resolution
• Ability to determine and report priorities/metrics to senior management
