Job Description
Manufacturing energy products and vehicles requires a remarkably complex supply chain (suppliers, logistics, warehousing, and distribution). During our ramp from tens of thousands of vehicles per year to hundreds of thousands, Tesla established the supply chain automation team to contribute radical innovation using computer vision, IoT, and distributed systems approaches. These prototype systems helped us scale gracefully and are now production critical. In the next 12-24 months, they are being asked to handle another order of magnitude of growth, supporting millions of cars per year, globally. This requires a DevOps leader to, first of all, fix vulnerabilities, identify bottlenecks, and institute best practices, and, secondly, to design new systems that can handle our growing product volume/diversity and additional Gigafactories. Do you have what it takes to help us build the most flexible and efficient manufacturing system in the world, thereby accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy? Responsibilities:
- Manage AWS infrastructure with tools such as Terraform and Ansible
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve developer feedback loops on ConcourseCI
- Deploy applications to on-premises Kubernetes clusters
- Determine and implement access patterns for hybrid cloud
- Build automation to proactively monitor applications and trigger alerts
- Prevent bottlenecks and vulnerabilities, and fix any that currently exist \Mentor developers on building production ready data intensive applications
Requirements:
- BS or advanced degree in computer science or related field
- 1+ years DevOps experience
- 4+ years of software engineering experience
- Expert in Linux, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker
- Experienced with languages such as Python, Go and Bash
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL (RDS)
