Role Overview
This position is for a Senior Service Engineering professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise. Maintains effective communication and frequent contact with key customers and field team members, performs highly complex diagnostic procedures, and prepares reports for the senior leadership team. Communicates technical information to key stakeholders and keeps key customers and field team members up-to-date on outstanding issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Maintains effective communications with key customers and field team members to ensure product enhancements/improvements are complete and accurate.
• Maintains frequent contact with key customers which requires a high degree of tact and courtesy.
• Acts as the expert in product knowledge/subject matter.
• Performs highly complex diagnostic procedures.
• Prepares reports for senior leadership displaying interpreted test information to resolve design/system related problems and to ensure continuous improvement.
• Communicates technical information to technical/non-technical stakeholders including senior leadership.
• Ensures that key customers and field teams are kept informed on outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, or repairs.
• Acts as customer and field service interface.
• Drives improvements based on end user experience.
• Performs corrective actions for field issues, special investigations, and product testing.
• Includes Power Plant engineers.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience writing technical publications, manuals or documentations with non-negotiable deadlines in an electrical manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of experience with collaborating with engineering and manufacturing to translate technical requirements and tactile efforts into a readable and repeatable instructions.
  • Masters of Arts or Science degree.
  • 2 years of experience with either XML, Arbortext, FrameMaker, Word, Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD, Solidworks, and authoring style and formatting requirements.
  • 1 years of experience with tracking quality metrics of all deliverables using Authorized Technical Review process.
  • 1 years of experience managing development of deliverables to support Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations and other internal business units.
  • 1 years of experience providing portal support with an understanding of the GTA process and portal tools as well as customer base and product platform dependency.
  • 1+ years of experience writing technical publications, manuals or documentations working in an aerospace or electrical manufacturing industry with familiarity with regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with management of work off-site work for specific writing projects with goal of as few of iterations as possible.
  • Experience with management of internal and external suppliers to ensure quality of final documents.
  • Experience with and of understanding of S1000D specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal business units including engineering, manufacturing and operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take direction from supervisor.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple internal and external business partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire new software and other technology skills.
  • Ability to read and write (technical) in French

Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 11 years of relevant experience is required.
