Description

Position Summary. The Senior Financial Analyst will provide accounting and finance support for the NA GPO business unit, as well as analytical support to Avendra’s executive management, company founders, and other key business groups. Such support incorporates accounting and finance related aspects, including forecasting and budget analysis, monthly financial and cash flow projections and operating results analysis, month end close procedures, spend analytics for GPO member base, summarizing and communicating results and recommendations to various groups across the business, and business cases and business development activities.

Position Reports to Director, Financial Planning and Analysis

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform Finance / Accounting functions including month-end close, purchase and revenue trend reporting, operating expense analysis, and monthly financial reporting.
• Prepare and validate monthly and quarterly financial and cash flow projections. Work with GSC&P finance to consolidate outlook at the GPO business unit level.
• Accurate monthly reporting of Revenue and EBIT results with variance analysis vs forecast, plan and prior year.
• Provide analytical support and analysis to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, VP Finance & Accounting, CEO, and other senior management
• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, utilizing Planning Analytics and other tools
• Analyze operational results relative to projections across P&L to determine drivers of and impact on business
• Perform NPV and various other analyses for business cases
• Analyze and comparing monthly and quarterly financial results and key performance indicators against plan and other internal/external benchmarks, including new and lost business reporting.
• Prepare and analyze Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statements to develop the Annual Operating Plan.
• Build/establish relationships with key business, financial, and operational personnel to ensure full understanding and support for GPO initiatives. Work closely with internal supply chain teams (contracts, category management, negotiation teams) and support teams (finance and IT teams) and other company stakeholders/resources.

• Proficiency in spreadsheet and modeling applications
• Excellent organizational skills, effectiveness in prioritizing work, ability to multitask, and comfort with ambiguity
• Demonstrate ability to interact with senior-level management and to work independently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Planning Analytics, Oracle Discoverer, and SQL a plus

Education Requirements. BS/BA in relevant field required – with high scholastic achievement. Major: Accounting or Finance
