Job Description

Citi’s Treasury & Trade Services (TTS) Technology Canada Department is looking to grow the development team with strong technical individuals. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right candidate to define themselves as a core contributor to the TTS Canada and set themselves up for a long and successful career at Citi. The successful candidate will be a technical analyst with extensive knowledge of the Canada payments such as EFT (ACH), EDI Corporate Payments, Lockbox, etc. The candidate will be required to work with business, development and technical teams located globally across Citi.
The Technical Analyst position is responsible for quality, integrity, scalability, and resiliency for the Canadian payment processing applications. You will be working a matrixed team of Developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and Quality Assurance Analysts both onsite and offshore, including FTE & Vendor resources, and partner with other team members – Development managers, PMO, Client Ops, Business, etc. – to ensure overall technical solutions meets business needs and align with technology organization strategies.

With a significant new development portfolio and a large production platform that supports payments for thousands of customers, we expect the candidate to provide technical guidance, exceptional analytical abilities, and outstanding communication skills and be a key contributor and hands-on leader for solution design, analysis, and implementation.

  • Understands Citi’s architectural roadmap and provides technical analysis and solution designs leveraging the latest technologies ensuring adherence to corporate standards.
  • Develop application and business expertise and participate in architecture discussions with the project team.
  • Works with the Development Managers to drive adoption of the latest technologies and practices, acts a subject matter expert, resolving issues, and advising of best practices.
  • Works with Architecture, Infrastructure, and Technology Risk & Control departments to understand the infrastructure and platform roadmaps and proactively leads and implements initiatives to ensure applications are utilizing current, supported versions.
  • Partners with multiple application teams within the department, participate in technical discussions with application team and other global partners.
  • Solves and works on a variety of high impact, high-profile problems / projects.
  • Acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts as needed.
  • Works with Security, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities, and end of vendor support issues.
  • Persuades and influences others through strong and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and is comfortable writing use cases, user stories, etc, and leading group review sessions.
  • Accurately estimate effort for assigned tasks and consistently meet commitments.
  • Wears multiple hats, acting as an analyst, troubleshooter, advisor, and consultant.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Proficient on modern development concepts and trends.
  • Knowledgeable on cloud technology, micro services, application design principles, etc.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical or system analysis roles with experience in modeling tools, documenting requirements, writing SQL queries, etc.
  • Knowledgeable on application architecture best practices in a complex, large organization, TOGAF certification an asset.
  • Financial background in Canadian banking accounting practices an asset.
  • Self-starter and a “do whatever it takes” attitude
