Job Description
We’re looking for an MBA intern to work with SeatGeek’s inventory team during Summer 2020. Our team powers SeatGeek’s mission of helping people experience more live in a simple, yet impactful way: offer fans the most inventory at the best prices. We’re looking for someone who is equally creative and analytical, excited by our ever-changing industry landscape, and interested in joining one of New York’s fastest-growing startups.
We're looking for an innovative thinker who is energized by solving complex problems and uncovering opportunities for growth. In doing so, you’ll contribute to our strategic roadmap and drive new revenue streams for SeatGeek. You'll closely collaborate with our sales, operations, customer insights, product, data science, and finance teams.
What you’ll do
- Support the Inventory leadership team by driving the development of SeatGeek's supply strategy and work with cross functional partners to implement it
- Build, enhance, and validate the inventory strategy roadmap considering key factors like: consolidation in the supply line, changes occurring in the primary ticketing space, secondary ticketing dynamics and the supply risk model, and the role of fulfillment in the marketplace
- Conduct competitive analysis that can be leveraged by the supply team and cross functional partners to inform short and long term supply and product strategies
- Develop a deep understanding of the supply/demand side of the ticketing business
- Evaluate and model out opportunities that could create incremental revenue for SeatGeek and better experiences for our sellers and end users
- Identify opportunities to partner with key professional sellers in order to more effectively compete against other key marketplaces
- Work closely with our Pricing and Business Development teams to solve high impact strategic business problems
What you have
- 3+ years in business leadership roles
- Bachelor’s degree
- Currently in MBA program
- Strong MS Excel skills including the ability to build a financial model and working with large amounts of data – Advanced SQL is a plus
- Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on teamwork, and integrity
- Experience working with product teams to scope & develop improvements for internal and external clients
- Highly analytical, strategic, and detail-oriented
