Job Description

As the Head of Debt Sale & DCA Management, you would be responsible for bringing unique international knowledge and experience of global best practice of debt sale into the Australian market and establishing and managing Equifax’s debt sale practice.Your primary role would be to consult & then co-ordinate multiple and complex debt sales for Equifax’s Australia & NZ clients. This role will manage the debt sales from initiation through to completion.

In addition and as a natural extension of managing Debt Purchasers (DP’s), this role would also be responsible for Debt Collection Agency (DCA) Management to ensure you engage and educate suppliers to deliver services at the same standard as in other global markets like the UK & USA.

Your day to day:

  • As the Head of Debt Sale & DCA Management you are expected to participate in strategic planning to shape the future of the debt sale business, creatively building solutions to meet current and future challenges that exist within the market.
  • Bringing international knowledge and best practice from a best practice market like the UK or USA into the Equifax Australia business process to ensure seamless and smooth delivery of debt sales
  • Establishing, managing and developing relationships with external participants- Debt Purchasers (DP’s) and Debt Collection Agencies (DCA’s)to ensure we have a deep and diverse pool of providers and also to manage them through debt sale bid processes to maximise commercial terms for clients
  • Playing a leadership role in developing and then implementing effective delivery strategies for debt sale and DCA management utilising your extensive knowledge and experience gained in the global Equifax business over many years
  • Developing budgets and strategic plans for Equifax’s entry into the debt sale market and then lead pricing, project and program budgets, cash-flow analyses etc.
  • Delivery of minutes, action sheets, agendas and other meeting papers for project governance and advisory committees.

What will impress us?

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the Debt Sales space preferably in an international market like the UK or USA
  • Preferably with an earlier background in the Financial Services sector and ideally within credit risk or role related to distressed assets.
  • Demonstrated analytic skills/understanding
  • Experience of project management MS Office tools (including Visio)
