The primary purpose of this role is to manage process/procedures and ongoing management of a professional services organization delivering services to Allscripts clients. Responsible for the mentoring and guiding of direct reports in the advancement of their craft and career progression.
Responsibilities
- Manage Professional Services in accordance with established standards and guidelines.
- Manage Professional Services projects, including workplans, deliverables, and change management; serve as trusted advisor working closely with client counterpart to drive project to completion.
- Monitor Professional Services and /or site implementations to ensure on-time, successful schedules. Provide direction and guidance to staff.
- Maintain personal utilization targets and ensure all direct reports achieve established targets for the given role.
- Act as escalation point for issues with other departments. Acts as an escalation point for client concerns. Escalates issues to upper management as necessary.
- Monitor utilization of process guidelines and project management tools by consultants. Identifies areas requiring improvement or modification and implements corrective action.
- Manage revenue projections, revenue recognition, and billing for assigned sites. Actively participate with the sales organization in closing new business opportunities.
- Regularly follow-up with clients to ensure that our service offerings are meeting their expectations.
- Demonstrate superior client service. Identify areas of poor client service or client dissatisfaction and take action to correct.
- Ensure proper client training materials are developed and readily available.
- Provide on-going development, feedback, coaching and mentoring to direct reports within Professional Services team as well as all junior team members on project work.
- Continuously advance knowledge of healthcare market trends and resultant service requirements.
- Identify and recruit internal/external talents to ensure effective mix of competencies
- Set and communicate team/individual objectives to inspire individuals to achieve high performance
- Allocate work load to fully utilize every employee’s talent
- Implement development plans and coach for individuals to reach their maximum talent
- Provide regular constructive feedback on performance/development and address poor/mediocre performance on a timely manner
- Recognize high performers to maintain motivation and retain key talent
- Create team spirit
Qualifications
Academic and professional qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred; or equivalent Business experience
- Advanced Master’s degree from a Top-Tier College or University (such as MBA, MPH or other) is desirable
Experience:
- Extensive team management experience
- 5 - 7 years combined health care consulting or healthcare information technology experience
- 3 – 5 years of experience working at a top tier consulting firm preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in working for a healthcare institution or in a services industry focused on healthcare; an understanding of IT projects, budgeting & other related processes within healthcare delivery environment strongly preferred.
- Advanced analytical experience creating impactful insights
- General knowledge of Allscripts applications or similar decision support and/or budgeting software
- Demonstration of project management skills
Required Skills:
- Strong written, oral, and presentation skills for audience appropriate delivery (i.e. executive, clinician, project team levels)
- Excellent client facing skills with ability to engage with senior & key executives
- Ability to oversee and guide teams to complex, workflow reengineering projects and/or management process projects, including outstanding analytical and communication skills
- Experience in creating and communicating value propositions with sales, clients and delivery teams
- Self-starter and follow-up with clients
- Actively solicit feedback to improve
- Outstanding client relationship skills with ability to become a client’s ‘trusted advisor’
- Consulting knowledge to prepare deliverables and communicate effectively
- Ability to translate client needs into sales opportunities and see deals through to completion
- Excellent management skills for oversight of both processes and people
