Job Description

Role Summary:

The Senior Operations Manager will manage daily tactical and long term strategic execution of safety, quality, delivery and profitability for one business unit within the GE Aviation Business Service Shop. This person will own all aspects of leadership for 10 support staff and 100 mechanics involved in the repair process of aircraft engines, and play a key role in the full site strategy working collaboratively as a member of the site leadership team.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety
  • Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards
  • Team management of salaried employees
  • This does not include production supervisors who oversee hourly employees
  • Develop research programs on the basis of a year
  • Give input to business programs of a encompassing part of a function or a business unit and to midterm plan

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Operation Management

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
