This opportunity is for a dynamic and creative Sr. Software Engineer who is eager to share their talents with the Collins Aerospace Avionics Tactical Communications and Maintenance Applications (TCMA) team. Primary responsibilities will focus on software development activities related to the growing market of integrated Communication and Surveillance avionics solutions for U.S. government and international customers. The applicant must be creative, highly self-motivated, and have strong interpersonal, communication and networking skills.

Required Qualifications

• This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
• US Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications

• In-depth experience in software architecture, design and development using languages such as C, C++, Java, Ada and Python. Experience with Ada is highly desired.
• Experience with software development models (e.g. waterfall, spiral, agile), languages and tools and application to product-line reuse across multiple projects and teams
• Experience with MIL-STD-1553 systems and Ethernet protocols are an advantage
• Hands-on capabilities in both embedded systems and hosted application software development
• Demonstrated experience with real-time, multi-threaded embedded systems applications development is highly desired especially with LynxOS and PowerPC architectures
• Experience working with SVN, DOORS, and/or Atlassian tools (JIRA, JAMA, Bamboo and Confluence)
• Demonstrated leadership of successful software development from requirements through verification
• Ability to successfully contribute in collaborative, cross-domain development environments
• Parametric estimating and bidding experience
• Project planning and Earned Value management experience
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal/written communication and teamwork skills
• Experience in identifying, communicating and mitigating risks
• Demonstrated capability in a fast-paced, dynamic, creative work environment
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, works well with others
• Current possession of / ability to obtain DoD Secret security clearance is required
