National Grid is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for a position within the Grid Modernization Execution Department at our Waltham, MA location.

Job Purpose

The Senior Data Analyst has primary responsibility to lead the Master Data Management team in the management, standardization, and oversight of data quality and integrity for all master data domains which power grid modernization across the enterprise. The data analyst works in close partnership with the business to deliver data conversion and data quality, define and document data definitions, and advocate for the improvement of data quality and integrity. The team utilizes the relevant master data tools consisting of workflow tools, data preparation tools, and MDM tools. This role will be responsible for leading the definition and design of Asset Management characteristics, leveraging Data Analytics Tools and Data Architecture Design, performing Data Analysis and Reporting, GIS Data Cleanup and Data QA/QC.

Key Accountabilities

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

• Works with cross-functional business leaders to achieve company’s data management goals, standards, practices, and process that drive value to the organization
• Assist project teams in ensuring design meets requirements around defining data management goals, standards, practices, process and technologies
• Analyze and resolve complex data management processes and validation
• Identifies, assesses, communicates and mitigates risk
• Identify and defines processes around the use of new technologies and tools
• Contributes to overall data governance strategy and develops data management strategy roadmaps
• Develops and mentors’ direct reports
• Collaborates with other IT, Data Governance, and business leaders to ensure alignment
• Assists in the development of business cases for proposed initiatives
• Daily management of support incidents, work orders, and change requests according to defined SLAs
• Adhere to project and support methodology

Qualifications
  • BS or BA required, MBA a strong plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in master data management, data governance, or similar required.
  • 5+ years of experience working with electric utilities, preference working on grid modernization projects desired
  • Strong knowledge in data management practices, data modeling and data architecture.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve difficult problems and implement solutions/processes that may exceed the scope of initial client/user complaint
  • Knowledge of industry networks to ensure awareness of trends and best practices to strengthen organizational and data governance and integrity rules
  • Well-developed diagnostic skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management
  • Outstanding organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving historythat meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy.
