Job Description


The Resilient Navigation and Reconnaissance Systems (RNRS) Finance Team has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Lead. RNRS is a product line in the Secure Sensor Solutions (S3) Mission Area of our Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) division.
The RNRS product line supports a diverse portfolio including the development, production and sustainment of airborne surveillance radars: ASARS, Sentinel R1 (ASTOR), Global Hawk Enhanced Integrated Sensor Suite and JLENS as well as development, production and sustainment supporting navigation capabilities for various platforms and weapons. Total RNRS portfolio annual sales are approx $550M.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with an eye for innovation and process improvement who can effectively communicate with all levels of leadership. This position provides a unique opportunity for ongoing visibility across the RNRS Product Line as well as the S3 Mission Area and will directly report to the RNRS Sr. Finance Manager. The RNRS team is primarily located in El Segundo, CA however this position is open to multiple locations.

Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to the following:
  • Establish and execute both a weekly and monthly cadence for inputs, reviews and on-time delivery to S3 FP&A
  • Own all financial reports, presentations and FP&A deliverables for RNRS with a focus on data integrity, completeness, and timeliness
  • Regularly present to the RNRS Sr. Director, the S3 FP&A Lead and the S3 Sr. Director of Finance.
  • Lead the product line investment and growth strategy through our five year planning (5YP) and annual investment strategy process
  • Lead cost strategy for top RNRS proposals and coordinate proposal tracking & leadership reviews
  • Track & coordinate quarterly EAC reviews
  • Analyze forecast data trends and make recommendations
  • Streamline the Short Range Opportunity (SRO) process across RNRS for consistency, timeliness and accuracy
  • Actively participate in weekly/monthly forecast, business and cash call reviews with S3 FP&A
  • Own the RNRS balance sheet; Identify issues and drive resolution
  • Lead a weekly aging receipts review and drive towards resolution of all past due issues
  • Monitor and analyze Overhead spending, IRAD projects and NBI spending
  • Monitor spending and liquidation of inventory ARs and CFRs
  • Track and coordinate forecast with Operations for Capital projects
  • Establish and drive the schedule for all 5YP and investment planning activities to meet the S3 FP&A deadlines
  • Analyze variances and lead month/year-end close reporting
  • Drive efficiencies through process improvement and establish FP&A best practices across RNRS
  • Evaluate the work scope of the RNRS FP&A responsibilities and staff direct reports as necessary

Required Skills
  • Minimum 8 years of applicable work in Financial Planning and Analysis, Program Controls or related areas of finance
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Expertise in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) concepts, related systems, and processes
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to package complex data into a format suitable for executive review
  • Demonstrated track record of leading competitive proposal cost strategy and driving towards winning new business
  • Ability to build a business case and utilize the Return on Investment (ROI) tool
  • Demonstrated ability to establish processes to drive efficiencies and improve performance
  • Ability to lead and drive team collaboration
  • Creative and innovative problem solving
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Budgeting and variance analysis skills
  • Risk and Opportunity analysis skills

Desired Skills
  • Prior work experience with a USG defense contractor
  • Experience with SAP accounting systems and tools
  • Active DOD Secret security clearance

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree. Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or related field preferred.
