Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Associate Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Test Specialist – Ultrasonic Test to support develop and administer the quality system that ensures and manages the integrity of company products and services.

This position is located in USA – Portland, OR and will support 2nd shift Quality Operations.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment to controlled standards.
  • Assists in the documentation of procedures for setting up test equipment.
  • Analyzes routine test, inspection or statistical data to determine product and processes conformity.
  • Assists with standard corrective action recommendations.
  • Documents and communicates standard test, analysis or measurement results.
  • Reports potential adverse trends or anomalous results.

Basic Qualification:

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore a “US Person,” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15, is required. “US Person” includes US citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Must be willing to work 2nd shift
  • AA degree in related Non-Destructive Test (NDT) discipline and typically 1 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Current and / or previous NAS 410 or equivalent level II certifications in Ultrasound method (Provide certificate number and validation date in cover letter.)
  • 1 + year of experience operating automated nondestructive inspection systems

Preferred Qualification:

  • 1 + years of experience in evaluating non-destructive testing equipment to ensure that it is qualified to inspect aerospace materials and structures in accordance with engineering requirements
  • The candidate should possess the ability to learn and apply job practices and techniques to the nondestructive evaluation process (Ultrasonic, X-ray, Eddy Current, etc.)
  • The Candidate should be capable of learning the policies, processes and procedures, (i.e. ISO resources including documentation) as they apply to technical documentation to ensure quality of products
  • 1+ years of Composite Experience is an asset

Typical Education / Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).

  • This is a union represented position.
  • This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
  • Some of the training for the Boeing Certification will take place at the Boeing Seattle Plant – Advanced Developmental Composites.
