Junior Clearing Associate

Job Description

Hudson River Trading is hiring a Junior Clearing Associate for our Business Development team. The position offers outstanding room for growth and a unique opportunity to be exposed to the inner workings of a successful high frequency trading firm. We are looking for someone that enjoys taking on challenging problems and wants to make an immediate, tangible impact.

The right candidate will be an enthusiastic learner with experience and an interest in clearing and automated trading. In this role you can always expect to be challenged by the ever-changing financial markets and find yourself solving interesting problems in an extremely fast-paced, real-time environment.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage operational-related matters (clearing, settlements, reconciliations, securities borrowing and lending, etc.)
• Identify trade discrepancies in a timely manner
• Daily communication with counterparties, prime brokers, traders, and various internal operations support teams in multiple regions
• Document processes and procedures

Skills

• Familiarity with the post-trade life cycle of Equities, Treasuries, Futures, FX, and/or Options
• Experience with external relationship management, including technology vendors, brokers, banks, etc.
• Experience with DTC PBS, Settlement Web, Obligation Warehouse, and OCC Encore
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to exercise good judgment and proactive decision-making in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Proven communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal with internal and external parties around the world
• Proven ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
• A strong attention to detail and desire to maintain accuracy while processing large amounts of information within a specific timeline
