We have an opportunity for software engineers in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. The mission is to provide world-class integration, modification, and sustainment engineering services to be used in systems deployed at sea and on land. Our systems/software engineering teams employ Agile rapidly implementing capabilities on a continuous basis into a mature solution for our customers. This opportunity supports the Air & Missile Defense Radar (AMDR), Aegis MK99 Fire Control Radar. The successful candidate will be responsible for test and test support, troubleshooting, software build and configuration management, assist in generation of site/radar adaptation and configuration, and support of verification and validation activities. Our software applications are developed using C/C++, Java, Ada, Matlab and Mathematic programming languages running Linux/UNIX operating systems on a variety of computing platforms. In this role, the engineer works in a collaborative environment across multiple teams including the U.S. Government customer, contractors and other Raytheon teams. Some travel is required with this position; work locations include Mt Laurel, NJ and Marlborough, MA. An existing secret clearance is required for this position.
Required Skills:
Minimum 4 years of experience.
Prior experience in software/system adaptation and configuration of UNIX/Linux lab environments.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and demonstrated ability to comprehend and work successfully with complex systems
Experience with test conduct and test support
Expereince with troubleshooting, issue identification and resolution in hardware and software
Demonstrated strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills
Demonstrated motivation with initiative to accept technical challenges in complex assignments
Software sustainment experience in a DoD environment
Ability to travel to remote locations including Marlborough, Massachusetts
Desired Skills:
Radar domain knowledge to include Radar Cross Section (RCS), Signal Processing, Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), SPY-1 and/or SPY-6
Experience with Aegis Combat System and Air Traffic Control Systems is highly desirable
Familiarity with the three or more of the following Software Tools: DOORS, Mathematica, MatLab, Visio, UNIX/Linux, Java or C++ Site Survey and configuration experience College level classes in advanced math and physics
Required Education (including Major):
BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics
