IT Software Engineer - Data/Database Engineer (NoSQL)

Job Description

Summary:
Lowe's has an immediate direct-hire opportunity for a Software Engineer (Senior Engineer - Database Technologies) to focus on designing and building our back-end NoSQL database environment for our Enterprise Cart & Checkout team.
General Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this role is to translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. This includes responsibility for developing, configuring, or modifying complex integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various computing environments. This individual facilitates the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications.
This role will be specifically focused on the design, engineering, optimization, and maintenance of Cassandra or Couchbase NoSQL databases and related back-end systems (Spring Microservices, Java, Google Cloud, etc.)

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (STEM).
• 5+ years of overall professional work experience in Information Technology.
• 3+ years of experience with database engineering.
• 1+ year of experience working with NoSQL databases (Cassandra or Couchbase strongly preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working with Cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud is preferred)
• Experience with Spring Microservices
• Capability with data streaming tools such as Kafka
• Well-versed in Agile development principals
