To be successful in this position you need to be collaborative and willing to work within a team. While you will need to be a self-starter, completing tasks on your own, working together is critical in this role. You will be interfacing with users and senior agency staff. Therefore, you should be articulate in your communications. You will need to explain technical intricacies to end users in a way that is easily understood. You will need to maintain a high-level customer service focus, exhibiting expertise, courtesy, timeliness, and professionalism.

Specific duties:

  • Provide Systems Division C2 MAC 1 Support for Army Operations Center/CCSA at the Pentagon.
  • Support Continuity of Operations (relocation of resources).
  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Maintains system documentation
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications

  • Candidate shall have at least two years of Windows System Administration experience in a virtual environment.
  • Candidate shall have at least one year experience building custom SCCM deployment and managing SCCM as the primary tool for maintaining a windows environment. Please note that using SCCM but not building for it is not an acceptable substitute.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable with most aspects of operating system administration; for example, configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printer systems, fundamentals of security, installing third-party software.
  • Understands a Windows-based operating system; understands paging and swapping, inter-process communication, devices and what device drivers do, file-system concepts (I-node, clustering, logical partitions), virtualization, and middleware.
  • Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understands basic routing concepts.
  • Ability to write scripts in some administrative language, preferably Powershell.
  • Knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) and IT Security control implementation, management, monitoring, intrusion/penetration detection, and alert notification.
  • Knowledgeable with Storage Area Networks (SAN), Enterprise Backup solutions and fault tolerant technologies.

Certification Requirements:

  • DoD 8570 IAT II compliant cert, e.g. current CompTIA Security+ CE certification
  • Computing environment certification; e.g. MCSA; MCSE; A-SCCM; etc.
  • If you start only with a Security+ ce, continued employment will be contingent on receiving the additional Windows certification within 6 months after your start date.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of an Interim Top Secret clearance on hire and confirmed within JPAS. Continued employment is contingent on receiving a fully adjudicated Top Secret clearance. Interim TS’s will be considered on a case by case basis.

Work Location:

  • Client Site, Pentagon
  • Hours of 8am-4:30pm M-F.
  • Some flexibility may be required to cover when others are out of office
  • No alternate work schedules
  • No telework allowed
  • 24x7x365 callback requirements
