We are currently looking for an AR Specialist to join Thales in Irvine, CA. The Accounts Payable Lead, reports directly to the Accounting Manager performing accounts payable function and leading team to accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related activities. Job Holder is the primary liaison for Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partner to ensure A/P is processed seamlessly, in line with service level agreement and escalated when required to ensure immediate resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for relationship management between internal customers and the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partner.
• Liaise with BPO to ensure seamless transition between handover and control points as defined in Local Processes for the Procure to Pay (P2P) workflow.
• Support BPO in the administration and maintenance of the expense management system
• Review and consolidate AP exception report from BPO. Conduct timely exception meeting with procurement department and purchasing department to address each item.
• Lead on assigned AP related special projects such as annual AP Clearing clean-up, out of date credits on AP aging report and un-paid outstanding checks. Resolve issues with proper investigation and documentation.
• Supervise AP specialist
• Assist and prepare audit schedules for internal and external audits.
• Assists in establishing policies and procedures related to AP processing, Financial Statements, and AFE Approval
• Supports accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
• Provides financial status information by assisting with preparing special reports and assisting with completing special projects.
• Assists in implementation of various tools and processes as required.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field with 1-4 years of experience OR Associates degree in Accounting or related field with 3-5 years of A/P work experience OR high school diploma with 7-10 years of A/P related work experience
• 2+ years of experience managing employees or team members (direct or indirect)
• Experience with large ERP system required
• Experience with advanced Microsoft applications, especially Excel and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent analytical skills as it relates within a large ERP system
• Self-starter with experience working autonomously
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
