Job Purpose / Overview

  • Takes existing data on a wide range of different financial areas and turns this into information that could be useful for the organization.
  • Develops and interprets detailed cost accounting information and makes recommendations regarding the efficient utilization of resources
  • Exercises discretion and creativity as to work details on assignments of a varied, diverse and difficult nature
  • Assists in solving complex technical problems in areas where no precedent exists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support LT decision making by clarifying financial impact from PMR/DMR/SMR for S&OP+ MBR
  • Support E2E team decision making by working together
  • Provide analysis on Corporate MAC (Margin After Conversion) and Inventory balance to deliver Earnings and NCFO target of the year
  • Provide analysis on local Manufacturing Conversion Cost, Non Quality Cost, Inventory balance to support E2E team to deliver their KPIs, including headcount
  • Provide analysis on local Logistics Conversion Cost, to identify risks and opportunities to deliver Earnings target
  • Review and prepare Journal entries for local MCC and LCC each period as needed
  • Lead annual Budget process for manufacturing and logistics and prepare forecast as needed
  • Lead CAB (both Industrial and Market) budget planning, manage year-end landing and provide periodic reporting to Campus

Context and Scope

  • FP&A Manager plays a critical role in the organization as a support for decision making and as a co-pilot to the management team. As the business becomes more complex, having the right information and analysis on time becomes critical to support an effective strategy.
  • FP&A Manager must understand the business environment, the internal processes and be at ease analyzing data from all sources to derive trends and propose action plans.
  • The Co-pilot roles require individuals to demonstrate strong functional competencies but also characteristics of behavior: high-quality decision making and problem solving but also the desire to build effective teams to accomplish more by working together than could be done as individuals.
  • FP&A Manager also drives a local, regional and global project which significantly affects the company’s strategy and planning.

1. Education & Professional Qualification: Good English & Japanese language skills (written and verbal) is essential, and high commitment / ethics in mind and behaviour.

3. Knowledge/Experience: Experience on Financial Planning, Shaping and Controls.

Financial Analysis & Insights:

  • Understand and apply best practices in financial evaluation of business performance to derive key insights impacting the business.
  • Develop and implement new analytical tools and techniques to create insights from financial information.

Financial Shaping:

  • Analyse actual performance to identify the drivers of that performance and quality risks and opportunities.
  • Define and agree the desired financial shape and targets for a business unit with business leaders.
  • Steer the business unit to deliver the target financial shape.

Strategy Development:

  • Understand the regional and global competitive and business environment.
  • Design and facilitate business unit and regional level strategy session.
  • Drive the local, regional, and global project with effective process management.
