Job Description
The Associate IT Business Analyst is an entry-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.
Responsibilities:
- Execute tasks in support of IT Business Analysis projects for assigned area and perform other duties and functions as assigned
- Support activities such as defining systems scope, determining project objectives and identifying inconsistencies in data/results
- Ensure compliance with standardized procedures and practices
- Support validation and testing activities to help identify system issues to make enhancements and escalate complex issues
- Work with a team to accomplish objectives
- Exchange ideas and information in a concise and logical manner
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience gathering business requirements and process documentation
- Basic experience managing technical or system-related projects
- Knowledge and understanding of financial markets and products, business systems and industry standards, business analysis procedures and concepts and different types of business applications
- Basic knowledge of project management methodology and software development lifecycle
- Proven quantitative, problem-solving and computer skills
- Demonstrated analytical inquisitiveness in gathering data to define functional and technical requirements
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and take ownership in delivering project milestones
- Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Some experience as a of Technical BA experience.
- Banking Knowledge (primarily Corporate and Retail banking knowledge is preferred)
- Experience and knowledge of ITIL/Incident management, ticket triaging, release coordination etc.
- Preferred knowledge of Service NOW.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (as this person would be working with Business User’s and Compliance user’s directly).
- Support users and technical team during SIT and UAT
- Support on Project administrative tasks (as needed)
- Possess excellent Analytical skills
- Willing to work longer hours and at times provide weekend support
- Enthusiastic approach/worth ethic
- Comfortable working in a geographically dispersed organization
- General understanding of Project Management and SDLC best practices
- Work with SME's for issue analysis/RCA's and identify if a workaround is possible
- Assess the priority of the issue and work with stakeholders for prioritization
- Engage Dev/Business/stakeholders for discussions or seek assistance to identify the fix
- BA role experience and involved in Production activities like Release item prioritization, User Trainings, Release Coordination activities etc.
- Process improvements or Business facing roles
- Good at MS Excel/PPT
- Review and prepare FRD/BRD/MDD/MPD
