Job summary

The Red Hat Partner Solutions Architecture team is looking for a Specialist Solutions Architect to join us in Plano, TX. In this role, you will focus on OS and database (SQL) platforms. You’ll provide extensive advisory, industry expertise and overall technical leadership for our open hybrid cloud, platform OS Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and joint database partner solutions. You’ll work with our strategic business partners to provide great practical workshops and outstanding demonstrations of our offerings and deliver limited-scope proofs of concepts and evaluations. As a Specialist Solutions Architect, you will also work with strategic partners to generate incremental revenue growth and assist in identifying new projects and use cases for Red Hat’s solutions, including container and cloud platforms, operating systems, and partner database platforms. Ideally, you will be based in the central region of the U.S. as coverage will span U.S. and Canada, but the position is open to other locations. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Primary job responsibilities

• Develop and conduct live demonstrations of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and partner database solutions in hybrid cloud deployments
• Educate partners and customers on the capabilities of Red Hat’s offerings, especially within the context of structured data (SQL) and analytical solutions
• Provide advice and technical leadership for partner sales opportunities
• Support partners in moving toward customer acceptance of technical proposals
• Work directly with partners as needed during the evaluation phase to ensure that they have all the tooling, scripts, and integrations necessary to deliver a successful deployment
• Collaborate with partners and customers along with internal sales and product teams to ensure excellent outcomes
• Guide and deliver proofs of concepts
• Assist in creating high-value joint enterprise solutions that increase business value using Red Hat’s offerings and technologies

Required skills

• 5+ years of experience deploying or administering enterprise applications and Linux platforms and databases using full stack technologies
• 3+ years of relevant presales, architect, consulting, or technical advisory experience
• Experience with enterprise Linux platforms, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Experience with enterprise database platforms like Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
• Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of public and private cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and IBM Cloud
• Practical knowledge of SQL tools and integration protocols
• Excellent presentation and verbal skills; ability to clearly articulate how enterprise open source software contributes value to our customers and partners
• Willingness to travel up to 60%
