Job summary

The Red Hat Partner Solutions Architecture team is looking for a Specialist Solutions Architect to join us in New York City, NY. In this role, you will provide extensive advisory, industry expertise, and overall technical leadership for our open hybrid cloud and application development and deployment solutions build and run on Red Hat OpenShift. You’ll work with our strategic business partners to provide great practical workshops and excellent offering demonstrations and deliver limited-scope proofs of concepts and evaluations. You will also work with strategic partners to generate incremental revenue growth and assist in identifying new projects and use-cases for Red Hat’s solutions, including application development and deployment, DevOps, container and cloud platforms. This position will cover the US and Canada and is considered a national role.

Primary job responsibilities

• Develop and conduct live product demonstrations for Red Hat’s cloud native and containerized solutions including application workloads
• Educate partners and customers on the capabilities of Red Hat's container and cloud native solutions
• Provide advice and technical leadership for partner sales opportunities
• Support partners toward customer acceptance of technical proposals
• Work directly with partners as needed during the migration phase to assure they have all the tools necessary to deliver a successful deployment
• Collaborate with partners and customers along with internal sales and product teams to ensure excellent outcomes
• Guide and deliver proofs of concepts
• Assist in creating high-value joint enterprise solutions that increase business value using Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Runtimes portfolios

Required skills

• 5+ years of experience developing or deploying enterprise applications using technologies like Eclipse Vert.x, Spring Boot, Node.js, J2EE, OpenJDK, Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, etc.
• 4+ years relevant pre-sales, architect, consulting, or technical advisory experience
• Experience with Container-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service solutions including knowledge of Red Hat OpenShift, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), Docker EE, Mesosphere, IBM Bluemix, or similar technologies
• Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of public and private cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or IBM Cloud
• Practical knowledge of DevOps principles, tools, and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipelines
• Excellent presentation and verbal skills; ability to clearly articulate how enterprise open source software contributes value to our customers and partners
• Willingness to travel up to 60%
