Job summary:This is newly established function with focus on Europe within Molecular Devices Product Support organization. The position will be located in our Salzburg facility with travel within Europe.This is an enterprise application customer support role, requiring diverse enterprise IT and network infrastructure experience, and which is focused on the installation and maintenance of Molecular Devices’ suite of SoftMax Pro compliance software packages for GxP environments. The successful candidate must be able to provide internal and external support from the first pre-sales scoping, to installation, through ongoing support and maintenance, working closely with customers’ IT departments or partners to understand their specific infrastructure, deployment needs, and capabilities in order to ensure customer success. This role is part of a global team responsible for customer success with deploying SoftMax Pro GxP software at customer sites.Key responsibilities:• Deliver (remote and occasionally on-site) IT infrastructure support, including installation and maintenance, of SoftMax Pro GxP compliance software at customer sites.• Provide technical guidance and play a lead role in managing customer deployments of SoftMax Pro GxP server-client configurations and ensure all system infrastructure requirements are met, beginning with the pre-sales process.• Work closely with the external customer, as well as the internal Sales team, Scientific Technical Support, Scientific Field Applications and Product Development teams throughout the sales and deployment process.• Contribute to the understanding and development of resolutions to issues as well as system enhancements.• Gain an appropriate level of understanding of the customer usage of the application to help manage installation and deployments successfully.• Travel to customers as required. Qualifications
• B.S. or B.A. degree in computer science, IT, engineering or related field• Relevant working experience in IT infrastructure and customer support• Experience as an enterprise Windows Server Admin, including with diverse Active Directory (AD) domain configurations, enterprise networking, and troubleshooting application issues to identify root causes of failure and their best solutions• Server and desktop virtualization, including Hyper-V and VMWare• Windows OS configuration and setup (active directory, certificates, permission system, user management, file sharing, firewall, antivirus)• Experience with advanced scripting (using PoweShell and Bash)• Experience with SQL database deployment and management• Configuration management and version control• Experience working in regulated research environments a plus• Provide excellent customer service• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to interact successfully at all levels within the business and with the customer• Has a high sense of urgency and works well under pressure• Takes responsibility and can work with a high degree of independence• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Experience in analyzing complex data and troubleshooting hardware and software issues• Experience with Docker a plus• English language skills are essential.
