JPM UI Toolkit supports the business goals of a number of businesses within the investment bank. Our teams are responsible for technology delivery, having development responsibility for key business systems and overall responsibility for all client facing user experiences within the investment bank. The broader team consists of people based in Glasgow, London, Mumbai and New York.
The group is divided into small, highly motivated, agile teams. Software deliveries are frequent and the team members are expected to be multi-disciplined and flexible in their approach, working in all areas of the solution space.
The candidate will have a hands on role building J.P. Morgan UI Toolkit, which is a toolkit of UI components designed and developed to provide an engaging, interactive and consistent user experience across all applications developed within the investment bank. We support hundreds of applications and thousands of developers. The JPM UI Toolkit delivers sleek, intuitive user experiences across all client facing applications, making it easier and faster for clients to conduct business with the Investment Bank. Candidates do not necessarily need banking experience but must be highly motivated with a track record of success.
The ideal candidates will have a thorough understanding of web technologies used to build web applications using HTML5/JavaScript. Any experience with other languages would also be beneficial. In this role, the candidate will be working as a developer in a small agile team to both build new features and support existing functionality to the bank’s JavaScript component libraries. Experience is expected in analysis/design, Agile methodologies, application and SDK development, optimization and performance tuning – plus working with business analysts, user experience, testers and (financial) business stakeholders. The working environment can be demanding but creativity and problem solving skills are rewarded.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
· BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
· Knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
· Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
· ES6+, TypeScript, Web Engineering, React, and NodeJS
