Job Description
Role: Graduate Site Reliability Engineer
Reporting to: SaaS Operations Manager
Contract Type: Permanent, Full time
Location: Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin
Rockall - A Broadrdige Business, is looking for a Graduate to join our Site Reliability Engineering team for our SaaS platform. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across various roles on this team and gain lots of experience in AWS, cloud infrastructure, scripting and operational excellence.

Role Responsibilities
You will work within a team which has full responsibility to:
- Build and operate customer specific environments hosted on public cloud infrastructure.
- Own security, reliability and performance of the Rockall Infrastructure.
- Continually improve our deployment and provisioning tools, through the automation of all things
- Monitor security, stability and performance of customer environments.
- Participate in ‘out of hours’ on-call rotation to troubleshoot site issues (this graduate role will join the rota)
- Continuously improve infrastructure processes and contribute to improvements in upstream development
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Experience in a relevant engineering role or projects
- Linux / UNIX – any operational or sys admin experience is welcome
- Exposure to networking and scripting
- Demonstrable work on technical projects preferably in a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Relevant 3rd level degree
- A high standard of English
- Eligible to work in Ireland
Desirable
- Familiarity with AWS
- Basic understanding of encryption keys (PGP/GPG)
- Experience with automation pipelines (preferably Jenkins and/or Gitlab CI)
The following technologies are used in Rockall teams and any related knowledge is advantageous:
- Amazon Linux AMI (RHEL/CentOS/Fedora) and Debian / Ubuntu
- AWS
- Modern programming languages e.g. Python, Java, Clojure
- Container technologies e.g. Docker
- Infrastructure provisioning e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation
- Source control and continuous integration e.g. Git, Gitlab
- Monitoring and alerting systems e.g. Prometheus, Grafana
- Build and deployment e.g. Jenkins, GitLabCI, Ansible, Packer
- Infrastructure orchestration e.g. Nomad, Kubernetes
