Job Description

Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) has an Electrical Engineering Internship available with our Hardware and Infrastructure (HWI) team located in Indianapolis, IN. This position involves assisting with the design and test of electronic circuit card assemblies and/or Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) that support a variety of military airborne equipment.
The ideal candidate should have strong academic credentials, experience working in a team environment, and strong interpersonal skills. Successful interns are inquisitive nature and have a strong desire to learn real world applications that complement their academic experience. Familiarity with hardware or software tools as appropriate for your academic level is also beneficial. The candidate should be interested in working in a highly motivated team environment that is process driven, as well as collaborating with a small team of engineers through the development of advanced prime mission equipment. This position can be for a Sophmore, Junior, Senior, or Post-Graduate internship, which are determined based on the candidate's qualifications (primarily degree credits earned).
Required Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or a closely related field STEM field.
  • Course work and/or experience related to digital circuits and FPGAs, embedded software, RF/microwave circuits, signal processing, and machine learning.
  • Thorough knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and apply decision-making skills with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Detail oriented, organized, self-starter, multi-tasker and team player
  • U. S. Citizenship is required, as this position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to US Citizens based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements

Desired Qualifications:
  • Prior work or intern experiences in Engineering
  • Ability to read schematics and basic knowledge of reading mechanical drawings
  • Background in RF and power supply theory
  • Programming experience with C++, VHDL, Verilog and/or LabVIEW
  • Experience successfully completing academic projects related to innovation of new and emerging technologies
  • Proven experience in Technical Writing
  • Strong problem solving skills with ability to identify proactively alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges
