RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Key responsibilities

• Technical lead within a global team of data engineers; ownership and delivery of critical data-orientated projects; local leadership responsibilities
• Architecting and delivering scalable, resilient and maintainable solutions, both Cloud-based and on premise
• Champion good engineering practices, giving teams the tools and frameworks to build high quality applications
• Execute strategy to as we move into a Cloud-based, data-driven landscape

Skills and experience we are looking for

• 8-10+ years of technical experience, including commercial software development, technical leadership, design and architecture
• Proven leadership experience with global teams, either organizationally or technically
• Experience working with Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure etc. )
• Significant hands on commercial software development experience with multiple programming languages, such as Java, Python, Scala, Javascript
• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases, and major big data technologies such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Spark, Flink, Storm, HBase, Oozie, Mahout, Flume, ZooKeeper, MongoDB, and Cassandra
• Track record of successful project and / or application delivery; commercial mindset with a pragmatic approach to building / buying software
