Applications Support - CIB Technology- Production Management

Job Description

Working in Application Support means you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You'll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Required Skills:

This position will be a hands-on lead for the support team. This opportunity is being used to upgrade talent resulting in hiring of folks with unique skill sets that more closely align with Production Management strategic path of implementing DevOps within Banking. Attracting candidates with a wider range of technology backgrounds allows us to assign a wider range of Agile technology responsibilities to these folks. In our new Agile/DevOps/SRE work model, we need to be more closely aligned with Application Development team and attract local talent that fit that mold to our long term success.

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strategic, analytical, management and hands on technology skills with a focus on Lockbox systems. Candidate must have superior organizational management, talent management and relationship building skills with significant experience managing an end to end technology environment. Additional qualifications include:

· College degree in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience

· 7+ years’ experience in application development and/or production management, with at least 5+ years as a Support analyst in a global application support or development team

· Must be able to multi-task in a complex production environment and quickly acquire broad knowledge of applications

· Strong communication skills both written and verbal

· Self-starter with confidence to drive issues through to completion in highly pressured environment

· Strong problem management and problem investigation skills with ability to learn new skills quickly to value add in problem focus areas

· Multi-disciplined technology skills encompassing some or all of the following

o Microsoft Windows skills including Scripting – PowerShell, ksh, perl, bash etc

o Database skills SQL Server

· Geneos, Windows Job Scheduler, Autosys and Control-M

· Knowledge of application development a plus

· Understanding of the design and implementation of proactive monitoring and health checks

· ITIL Incident management life cycle skills and experience

· A strong understanding of incident, change and problem management, and how to apply them effectively.

· Experience of managing production support in a complex environment, preferably within financial services sector

· Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

· Good communication both written and verbal with an ability to communicate at all levels up to senior management

· Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external teams.

· Initiative, self-motivation and a sense of urgency.

· Ability to meet tight deadlines.

· Possesses high level of energy and endurance

· Rigorously holds oneself and others accountable for achieving individual and organizational performance objectives

· Constantly challenges status quo and complacency

· Willing to work outside of normal hours, including weekends.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Demonstrated problem analysis skills, including data collection, analysis and interpretation

· Experience with J&B Software Products (TMS, JBaide)

· Experience with TIS Software Products (EFlow)

· Experience with Hyland OnBase workflow product

· Basic understanding of DevOps and SRE methodologies or processes is a plus
