Description

The Customer Profile Utility (CPU) as a new utility service that provides a common set of core customer data services consistent across products, customer journeys, and channels. The sub-domains within CPU include: customer identity management, customer contact channels, customer preferences, customer relationships, customer classifications, customer entitlements, and the customer profile. We are modernizing aging mission-critical customer data infrastructure to enable bank to complete on data quality and agility. Our mission is to provide accurate and timely core customer information in support of firm wide product and service offerings in order to enable a consistent customer experience.

As an area product owner within the Customer Profile Utility product team, you'll lead a cross-functional product group and aligned feature teams to shape technology solutions that drive strategic initiatives across the firm. Your key objective as a change agent is to proactively set the strategic direction for your domain, designing and executing the product roadmap. You’ll partner across the organization, establish relationships, gather feedback from business and development, and establish a successful target state.

As an area product owner you must manage how the budget is allocated and spent. You will drive an agile organization and are empowered to change the direction and scope of the roadmap as needed. You should understand and quantify the business value of the book of work and use critical thinking to make data-informed decisions for your area. Your mission is to maximize the value of the product and work of your aligned area product and feature teams.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of JPMorgan Chase businesses and the underlying technological infrastructure, strong communication skills, critical-thinking skills, and a commitment to producing high quality results.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set the vision and direct the strategy for the product
  • Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders and own stakeholder communication
  • Help develop the product business case and work with stakeholders to quantify business value of efforts
  • Develop and refine the strategic roadmaps and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Work with stakeholders to develop, refine, and prioritize the backlog (build and own the backlog)
  • Maximize the value of the product and the work of the cross-functional delivery team
  • Define success criteria and accept or reject work product at sprint completion
  • Collaborate with Controls, Risk, Audit, Compliance, Data & Model Governance, and Technology to deliver on product vision
  • Drive use case & requirements definition, design, testing, and implementation of new data assets and technology-driven capabilities that address specific business needs
  • Identify areas for efficiency across data domains, such as the elimination of duplicate data or platforms
  • Enable the management of data as a corporate asset: define data (metadata), identify systems of record and authoritative data sources, create data quality rules, and shape solutions that embody firm-wide principles, standards, and controls

Educational Requirement

The candidate should have an educational background in Business, Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. In addition, the candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of leadership experience driving business solutions enabled by data, analytics, and technology
  • Proven leader with demonstrated ability to make strategic decisions, take accountability for those decisions while candidly challenging the status quo to drive positive business outcomes
  • Ability to proactively partner with business stakeholders and development teams to drive strategic direction
  • Advanced knowledge of CCB business processes and customer data infrastructure
  • The candidate must exhibit a thorough understanding of data structures, data manipulation, metadata, data security, and data quality management
  • Experience in project management: including scheduling, budgeting and resource planning
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
