Role Overview
This position manages a large team of both experienced professionals and team leaders across functions, manages medium to large-sized programs or multiple small programs. Monitors strategic planning efforts, presents progress reports and value-stream strategy, recommends solutions for program problems, manages the P&L of programs and multiple vendors, and supports contract negotiation.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Leads medium to large or multiple small programs to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets for programs under his/her responsibility.
• Manages the P& L of the program to ensure profitability targets are met, and manages multiple vendors.
• Develops milestones, program plans, schedules and budgets for programs to ensure that the organization’s objectives are met.
• Consolidates and presents plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the program(s), and manages value-stream strategy and progress.
• Monitors strategic planning efforts for medium and/or complex programs.
• Demonstrates continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.
• Identifies and reacts to program problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources, changing contractual specifications, and coordinating responses to customer action items.
• Supports the development of new business growth strategies.
• Supports the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operation budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests.
• Directs all program phases from inception through completion.
• Interfaces with customers for project specifications to ensure successful completion.
• Manages the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule and performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
• Coordinates the negotiation, proposals, business plans, budgets and contracts for programs.
• Establishes cost focused performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets.

Success will be measured by the following:

  • Improving On Time Delivery to our AM Customers
  • Reducing backlog and past due.
  • Driving process improvements to shorten response times.
  • Standing up Maintenance Repair and Overhaul capability for Spares and Seats.
  • Reducing lead-times to customers by forecasting demand and restructuring this business for greater efficiency.
  • Building relationships with indirect stakeholders and other departments.
  • Mentoring other team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Strong focus on the customer and maintain the highest level of customer service
  • Must have ability to create and drive adoption of standard processes in a wide variety of areas
  • Comfortable in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent conflict management skills​
