Akuna Sydney opened in early 2018 and is at the center of Akuna’s Asian trading operations. Akuna’s focus in Asia is currently trading HK, Korea, cryptocurrencies and US night markets and is looking to expand to trading on all major Asian exchanges. Employees will work together towards achieving Akuna’s goals across all areas of the business, including trading and desk buildout, cutting-edge research and data analysis, strategy creation, and building ultra-low-latency trading systems that are tailored to local market conditions.

What you’ll do as a Junior Developer at Akuna:

Akuna Capital is seeking Junior Developers to join our innovative and growing technology team at Akuna. In this role you will work alongside our trading and software team to design and implement elegant solutions to complex and interesting problems. We have the following two teams within the Development department at Akuna looking to add more members to their teams:

• C++: In this role you will collaborate with our Trading and Software teams on applications that have critical, low latency processes and where C++ is used for the computational heavy lifting.
• Python: As a member of this team, you will support trading infrastructure, algorithms and beyond.

Full-time compensation packages starting at $100K AUD.

Qualities that make great candidates:

• BS/MS/ PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related field completed upon employment
• Strong programming skills in Object Oriented Python Development
• Demonstrated experience with distributed systems
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
• An interest in user interface technologies and UX
• Ability to communicate, obtain requirements, find solutions and implement them in a clean and concise way
• Create an easily understood and testable codebase that can change as quickly as market conditions require
• Passion for innovation and building systems from the ground up
• Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
• Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently
• Major GPA of 3.0 or above
• Must be graduating by January 2021
• Must currently be authorized to work in Australia. Akuna does not offer sponsorship for this position
