DescriptionThe focus of the Director EHS Compliance Assurance is to coordinate, assess and help manage the EHS compliance and operational EHS risk to Danaher Corporation, resulting from operating company activities, together with the corporate EHS team. In this role you will report to the Vice President, EHS, and will be responsible for the execution of the EHS auditing, auditor training, metrics, and program maturity assessment processes in collaboration with the Director, EHS Services, and in coordination with the EHS Operations Leadership Council, which consists functional leaders for the major Danaher operating companies (OpCo).
Responsibilities:- Expand, improve and lead EHS audit and auditor training/certification process. Lead all aspects of the Danaher EHS audit program; seek opportunities to continually improve the EHS audit process, standard work, and reports; expand program to include assessments of Danaher EHS policy deployment, field service and other non-manufacturing activities, and focused audits on specific areas of risk; establish, collect and report audit program metrics; expand scope of audit program to changing requirements, achieve consistent program execution and improve quality, world-wide
- Coordinate and maintain EHS program maturity and risk assessment tools for OpCo and facilities to use in conducting self-assessments of EHS programs, conduct semi-annual corporate program assessment of facilities, maintain facility database, identify facilities with EHS significance, collect facility EHS hazard and performance data, refine EHS program assessment methodology, conduct annual program assessments and priorities for focused corporate oversight and report results
- Oversee Danaher EHS performance metrics process. Collect, collate, validate, and report EHS metrics and performance versus goals, as directed; analyze metrics to find opportunities for improvement amid the key elements to successful EHS management such as regulatory compliance, risk assessment, communication, self-audit, and senior leadership engagement. Monitor EHS performance, injury and illness data, environmental incidents, inspections, environmental monitoring results. Lead the annual Danaher EHS awards process
- Handle EHS regulatory information services. Maintain user-friendly access to cost-effective, vendor-based sources of regulatory requirements and updates on changes. Analyze, summarize and communicate potential significant impacts to our businesses
- Lead EHS training resources. Maintain and update the EHS modules that are part of the annual corporate compliance training process. Maintain an EHS training resource center for OpCo use. Coordinate training activities related to EHS auditor certification
- Support acquisition EHS transition activities. Assist in the transition of acquired OpCo into Danaher
Job Requirements QualificationsRequired Skills & Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science discipline; Master’s degree and professional certification preferred
- 10 - 15 years’ total experience, including work in engineering, manufacturing operations, auditing, or business management; international experience preferred
- Knowledge of US federal and state regulations pertaining to occupational safety and health and the environment
- Practitioner experience using DBS Fundamentals in transactional and business support functions, including VSM, PSP, DM, VM, SW
- Proficiency of leadership of and associate engagement in kaizen events
- Ability to design, develop, and implement a DBS roadmap and action plan for a functional area
- Experience and understanding of regulatory systems and auditing and compliance outside the US
- Experience in corporate-level program development and project management
- Travel is required 25-30%, worldwide
