The Phantom Works Virtual Warfare Center is looking for a self-motivated K-level Software Manager to lead a growing team of software developers. This position can be located in either St Louis, MO.

Candidates must be able to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic Agile development environment with evolving priorities. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a diverse portfolio of projects across multiple domains / program areas. This person will work closely with project managers to ensure delivery of custom modeling and simulation applications to support virtual operator-in-the-loop experimentation and constructive analysis needs.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a software development team executing in an Agile environment
  • Experience leading diverse, geographically distributed teams

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Typical education and experience described in our standard level guides are aligned to the type and number of years of experience/education required to perform the job in industry
  • Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required
