You will report to the VP, Infrastructure Engineering.

A Look Inside the Job:

• Own the overall relationship with our key manufacturing partners
• Establish and qualify hardware designs in conjunction with Original Device Manufacturers (ODMS) through EVT/DVT/PVT/MP stages
• Fast prototyping for product innovation
• Transfer practical prototypes into engineering, build, operations, and support
• Work with Project teams to ensure new product readiness, transition and rapidly ramp and reach time-to quality and volume on new products.
• Mentor other hardware engineers

About You:

• BSEE or MSEE or related degree or equivalent experience
• 15+ years of experience in vendor relationships and defining requirements, sourcing, and working with high volume vendors to meet our fast paced growing and changing infrastructure needs.
• Experience creating specifications for servers (including all components: motherboards, hard disk, controllers, etc) and the requirements for the data center
• Experience testing the performance and interaction of components, and working with vendors to modify firmware or other software to tune for Datto’s specific needs
• Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate multiple simultaneous projects, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Continually up-to-date with leading technology, and the ability to evaluate different options for hardware and configurations
• Demonstrated ability to work across various groups: Infrastructure Engineering, Software Engineering, and Product
