Reporting to the Content Production Manager, the Content Producer will be responsible for the production and delivery of online learning content and assets for a number of online and blended course development projects from handover of developed and approved storyboard content through to delivery. Briefing, managing and overseeing vendors/developers to carry out the course build as well as the production of all associated assets, the Content Producer ensures that the quality and design as envisioned is maintained throughout the production process, ensuring timely delivery according to scope, schedule, quality and budget.
The main course build will likely be in a client’s VLE/LMS environment (e.g. Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas) or other platform, and associated assets could include (amongst others) interactives (Scorm), audio, video, animation, redrawn images/graphics and photos.
The ideal candidate will have a background in content production and/or digital production, with experience of creating online learning experiences. You will need excellent project management skills and the ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams and external suppliers to deliver learning experiences of outstanding quality.
Your Responsibilities
Our Successful Candidate
We are looking for experience in a content production and/or digital production role within publishing online is essential. Strong knowledge of the publishing and production processes in relation to online learning - an understanding of the end to end production workflow and awareness of the Content Producer role within this.
Experience of delivering content in a variety of formats and integrating into LMS environments (e.g. Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas). Able to manage and mitigate schedules in a fast-paced environment managing multiple module deliveries with competing priorities.
Previous experience of managing projects using onshore and offshore suppliers & vendors (in particular developers and editorial freelancers); negotiating, executing contracts, creating briefs and purchase orders. An understanding of testing requirements (editorial, functional, technical, accessibility etc) across a variety of browsers and devices.
Experience and understanding of accessibility guidelines for online content, with experience in checking to ensure that content is accessible to all end users and best practice is applied.
Knowledge of audio and video production processes. Experience of briefing and managing designers to create graphics redraws and research photographs is desirable. As is knowledge of different file formats and limitations when it comes to images and graphics for online use.
An understanding of interactive authoring tools and their capabilities (Captivate, Evolve, Adapt, Articulate). Familiarity with relevant computer programs and course delivery platforms including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, flowchart mapping (e.g Lucidchart), screen capture software (e.g. Camtasia).
Able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and suppliers, as well as able to work independently.
