Job Description

Position Title: eCommerce Category & Customer Development – Associate Manager

Reports to: Senior Manager, eCommerce Category & Customer Development

Location: Hoboken, NJ

The Associate Manager, E-Commerce role is critical in supporting Newell brands’ strategic objective of driving profitable growth across Ecommerce key customers – Amazon, Walmart.com, Target.com, Staples.com, etc.

As an Associate Manager, you will support the development and execution of Ecommerce key customer strategy, performance objectives and execution plans with a focus on product portfolio, pricing and promotion. You will closely work with other functional teams, including digital marketing, sales, finance, etc. to develop and deliver growth plans.

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Perform market analysis including: understanding changes of Newell Brands products’ market share vs competitors, understanding key category trends and market dynamics, and identifying growth opportunities
  • Analyzing key competitor actions and strategies and emerging consumer trends
  • Support development of the customer strategy, including development of: assortment portfolio by customer, pricing guidelines, promotional guidelines, strategies to avoid marketplace disruption / channel conflict
  • Conduct promotional activity analysis – understanding lift and return on investment from promotional activity across key customers, driving conclusions and providing recommendations and input for promo guidelines by customer
  • Analyze POS and invoice sales performance, determine key drivers of over/underperformance and propose actions
  • Support development of Ecommerce strategic objectives by brand and performance goals
  • Provide inputs for digital marketing activation – priority products, promotional activity, point of view on content
  • Support sales in key customer planning and negotiations’ activities
  • Support the team by performing analysis and/or project managing initiatives
  • Partner cross functionally with digital marketing, sales, finance, supply chain, etc.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA or University degree in Business, similar field or Engineering
  • Strong analytical thinking partnered with driving insights from data/analysis – proficient in excel, ability to build models is a plus
  • Experienced in market analysis – market share, competitor dynamics, trends, etc.
  • Ability to partner with cross functional stakeholders to solve problems and deliver results
  • Ability to think strategically and link execution plans and broader performance goals to the overarching strategy
  • Understanding of Ecommerce market dynamics and key players’ interconnectivity
  • Feeling comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in durable consumer products is preferred, but not required
  • Experience with Amazon vendor central and/or Retail.com player is preferred, but not required
