Level 6 Embedded Electronic Systems Design and Development Engineer – Signalling Apprentice

As a Signalling Apprentice you will develop technical engineering skills which will help you to design rail signalling systems. You will support the team to deliver signalling design activities to target dates and within budget, whilst developing your engineering skills in both hardware and software design. There will also be opportunities to undertake placements within other project departments to develop a wider business understanding.

Through our Degree Apprenticeship you’ll be making the most of your talents, broadening your engineering understanding in a wide range of application areas from the ground up, with the help of one of the biggest and best names in the industry.
As a signalling apprentice you will be studying towards a BEng in Electronic Engineering, under the Embedded Electronic Systems Degree Apprenticeship standard. For the duration of this 5 year programme you will be given one day per week in which to complete your studies with London South Bank University. For the other 4 days you will be working in the business, applying your learning and gaining a breadth of experience across the engineering function. At the end of the programme you will have achieved a BEng in Electronics. There will also be the opportunity to apply for professional registration with the Institute of Engineering and Technology as an Incorporated Engineer.
This opportunity is currently available in Stratford, London and will remain based in London for the duration of the Apprenticeship.
Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for confident, enthusiastic individuals who are motivated, committed and keen to learn. Candidates should be self-discipline who are able to manage their time, show initiative, work well alone & with others, have good written and oral communication skills and have a genuine interest in becoming a professional engineer with a world leading Engineering Company.
You will also need:
Candidates will need a minimum of 3 A levels (BBB) Including Maths, or an equivalent e.g. BTEC DDM. They will also require 5 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A-C) including English and Maths.
Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the programme.
