Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.

The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

The Market and Counterparty Risk Management (MCRM) organization within Corporate Credit & Market Risk is responsible for ensuring an appropriate Risk Management frameworks exist for products offered by the primary trading and lending desks, with particular emphasis on Counterparty Credit Risk and Market Risk. A Risk Management framework includes the identification, measurement, approval, pricing, aggregation and reporting of counterparty credit risk and market risk.

Business Management Team

Focused on delivering strategic and tactical support to both the Head of MCRM as well as MCRM senior leaders through complex functional projects, presentations, issue management, reporting, and overall team member engagement.

The Role

MCRM Business Management Team is seeking a results-driven individual with the desire to play a core support role for the MCRM business management team by significantly contributing to the achievement of the group’s strategic goals and objectives. A successful candidate will have previous Business Management, Management Consulting, Capital Markets/Institutional Traded Products, and Counterparty/Market Risk experience, but strong experience in behavioral facilitation methods, analytics, and aptitude in design of presentation materials will also help candidacy. Your value added capabilities to challenge others to cultivate ideas, relationships and opportunities will organically drive successful outcomes. This role will give the candidate a unique opportunity to learn from a wide variety of risk management disciplines and stretch critical thinking and communication skills through interaction with senior leaders.

The individual selected for the position will work closely with the MCRM Chief Operating Officer. He/She will support coordination & execution of the MCRM initiatives and serve as point of contact for communication and strategic planning across multiple stakeholders. This role will also be responsible for promoting MCRM events and offsite sessions, in support of broader MCRM strategic priorities. This role will be responsible for reviewing and supporting MCRM communications and working collaboratively with the business management team and MCRM team members in promoting teamwork and high quality design of strategic materials. The role will require excellent communication skills with the ability to contribute to special projects and innovative and creative approaches to communications that could be leveraged across MCRM. The Business Consultant will be highly visible, demanding, rewarding and provide an individual the opportunity to dramatically improve process gaps and establish BAU routines.

A key success factor for this role is the ability to synthesize complex ideas, actions, and abstract dialogue into concrete design of communications and supporting deliverables and services to the MCRM organization.

Specific responsibilities for this role include:
• Reviewing and supporting MCRM communications
• Working collaboratively with the MCRM business management team
• Contributing to the overall MCRM strategic plan through support of new programs and initiatives
• Researching and testing creative approaches to be leveraged as part of the MCRM Communications Strategy and Plan
• Supporting MCRM leaders and the Business Management team through content creation for presentations and/or analysis related to MCRM as well as the lines of business that are covered by MCRM
• Providing support to strategic offsite sessions and interacting with MCRM leadership


Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning

• Ideal candidate will have interest and experience with design thinking methods and tools, including data visualization
• Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to motivate staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, and Project) skills
• Virtual leadership experience with ability to effectively drive results, provide feedback/direction, and manage and build relationships with leaders and team members in a geographically dispersed team environment
• Ability to identify inefficiencies, opportunities to streamline business processes, and implement change
• Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
• Ability to manage complex initiatives
• Prior experience in a business management function in either Corporate Risk or Wells Fargo Securities
• History of building business as usual routines derived from ad hoc requests
• 4+ years of Capital Markets and/or Counterparty/Market Risk experience
