Position: Senior Field Applications Scientist Centrifugation – Europe
Location: Flexible location - Europe
Reporting to: European Senior Sales Manager Centrifugation
The centrifugation business is looking for a Senior Field Applications Scientist to support the growth of Centrifugation business in Europe. The person must be a strong team player with a collaborative and commercial mind-set, able to partner effectively with internal teams, cross-functional experts, external collaborators, and customers.
A candidate primed for success will be a self-starter, who has a strong passion to advance science especially in rapidly growing biotherapeutics such as gene therapy, antibodies and proteins, with keen attention to detail, ability to learn application information, and apply it to customers’ situations.
Critical responsibilities are to:
o Provide guidance and support to sales team by participating in the pre-sale customer qualification process including instrument and software demonstration.
o Contribute to financial growth objectives through pre- and post- sales activities.
o Support conference events by scientific presentations
o Support AUC Sample Testing Program to build AUC sales funnel and customer confidence together with AUC specialists.
o Act as consultant to the implementation and support of customer applications within your territory. This includes on-site customer training, method development and general support on AUC and other centrifugation techniques.
o Promote and coordinate user groups meetings.
o Creation of applications content to expand AUC and other applications.
o Build, foster and maintain KOL relationships.
o Collaborate with customers for joint publications.
o Develop simplified/standardized methods for target applications.
o Develop and maintain deep understanding of the major 3rd party analysis software for AUC UltraScan & SedFit
o Build great relationships with field sales team and field service engineers so as to unify the overall customer experience.
o Manage workload effectively including daily management of required administrative duties.
o Adhere to required standard work associated with job.
o Travel to support business and customer needs.
Job Requirements QualificationsQualifications/Competencieso MS or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, or related field with 5+ years of recent laboratory experience.
o Experience using Analytical Ultracentrifuge and other centrifugation techniques for biologic characterization is required.
o Familiarity with biotherapeutic (and other) production and purification workflows in GMP environments, such as viruses/virus-like particles, antibodies and other proteins, exosomes and lipid vesicles, nanoparticles, and polymers is preferred.
o Working knowledge of UltraScan and SedFit analysis software.
o Strong passion to advance science, especially in fast paced, rapidly growing fields like gene therapy.
o Comfortable interacting with customers and KOL’s to develop Application Proof Points (Articles, Videos)
o Additional experience with alternative characterization techniques like HPLC, DLS, and EM is helpful.
o Ability to write scientific reports (for customer experiments and instrument qualifications)
o Continues to develop depth of knowledge by reading scientific and technical literature and keeps up with leading trends/applications in the marketplace.
o Prioritise work load to manage competing demands.
o Follows all company safety policies & other safety precautions within work area.
o Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
o Travel required (50-75%).
o Languages: English as business language fluent, any other European language is an advantage
o This is a field position and coverage of Greater Europe. Preferred location is the United Kingdom however consideration will be given to candidates based in another European location
